Hansgrohe is one of NANOVIS’ first customers. During our visit, Michael Oberföll took us directly into the production area, where our NANOCLEANER NC-350 has been operating alongside the pad printing machines every day for the past 18 years, ensuring perfectly clean printing tools.

What impressed us most was the condition of the machine. Even after 18 years of daily use, the NC-350 is still exceptionally well maintained. This commitment to quality is reflected throughout the entire company.

Equally impressive is Michael Oberföll’s own story. He has been part of Hansgrohe for 40 years, having started his career there as an apprentice. His loyalty to the company over four decades is remarkable, especially in a world where long-term commitment has become increasingly rare.

When Hans Grohe founded his small three-person workshop in the Kinzigtal Valley in 1901, no one could have imagined that it would grow into one of the world’s leading manufacturers of premium bathroom and kitchen products. Today, with around 5,600 employees worldwide, Hansgrohe is synonymous with innovation, design and outstanding quality.

Another highlight of our visit was the Aquademie. More than just a visitor and exhibition centre, it tells the story of a company that has been shaping innovation and design for 125 years.

Walking through this remarkable journey naturally raises one question:

Did Hans Grohe ever imagine what his vision would one day become?

Moments like these remind us that great success stories are created by people who think long-term, consistently pursue quality and remain true to their values.

In the first part of our series, we shared how the story of NANOVIS began with the NANOCLEANER NC-350. Now, we would like to introduce the companies that continue to rely on these machines to this day.

Our first visit took us to PB Swiss Tools AG, located in the beautiful Emmental region of Switzerland.

What makes this company truly remarkable is its impressive history. Founded in 1878 as a small village blacksmith’s workshop in Wasen im Emmental, it evolved over generations—from forging horseshoes and metalwork to manufacturing military gloves—into a company that is now internationally recognised for Swiss quality and precision in hand tools.

During our visit, it quickly became clear that these values are still deeply embedded in the company culture.

We are especially proud that a NANOCLEANER NC-350 has been in daily operation at PB Swiss Tools for around 11 years. Built in 2009, this machine is one of the early models in the history of NANOVIS.

Patrick Läng acquired the machine as a pre-owned system and continues to use it successfully for cleaning pad printing equipment.

Our visit clearly demonstrated that PB Swiss Tools and NANOVIS share the same core values: quality, durability, and products that are designed and built to last for decades—not just for a few years.

Back then, we were a typical start-up company with a clear goal: to develop a more environmentally friendly, efficient and sustainable solution for cleaning printing tools.

Through market research, customer visits and countless discussions with industry professionals, it quickly became clear that cleaning processes were often overlooked in many printing and industrial companies. Cleaning was frequently carried out manually using solvents – a time-consuming process associated with high chemical consumption and significant disposal costs.

We believed there had to be a better way.

The idea was simple: just as a dishwasher has become an essential appliance in almost every household, we wanted to create a sustainable and efficient “dishwasher” for the printing industry. Our goal was to reduce the use of solvents, eliminate liquid chemical waste and simplify the entire cleaning process.

This idea led to the development of the NANOCLEANER NC-350.

Designed specifically for companies using pad printing technology, the NC-350 became the first major milestone in our journey and laid the foundation for the future growth of NANOVIS.

Although this model is no longer in production today, we are proud that several NC-350 systems are still successfully operating after more than two decades. They stand as a testament to durability, quality and sustainable investment.

The machine shown in the photos has recently been completely refurbished and restored by our production team with great care and dedication. Today, it holds a special place at NANOVIS, reminding us every day where our journey began.

When we look at the NC-350, we do not simply see a machine.

We see ideas, challenges, countless conversations, technical developments and people who believed in a vision.

Most importantly, we see the beginning of a story that continues to this day.

Over the coming weeks, we will be visiting customers who are still successfully operating their NANOCLEANER NC-350 systems. We look forward to sharing their stories and reflecting on more than 20 years of innovation, partnership and continuous improvement.

As part of an initial delivery batch, some of the ordered NC-1200 and HC-1000 systems have already been delivered. Our team was on-site to install the systems, commission them, and provide comprehensive training to the staff. The installation went smoothly, and users were able to immediately familiarize themselves with the systems’ wide range of applications and functions.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the entire Geostick team for the excellent collaboration and open communication during the installation and training. Such partnerships are the foundation for sustainable success and continuous development.

Delivery of the remaining systems is scheduled for the end of June. We are already looking forward to successfully completing the project together and continuing to support Geostick B.V. in its demanding tasks in the future.

We are delighted that UVEX has chosen a solvent-free cleaning system from NANOVIS to clean ink-contaminated printing tools in an environmentally friendly, safe, and efficient manner.

The added value: protection for employees, conservation of resources, and optimized process times.

In close cooperation between Claudia Marcoli and Manfred Lumpp, technical consultant for pad printing at Schlee Siebdrucktechnik, the solvents used in the cleaning process were reduced to ZERO and cleaning times were also shortened.
